Todays practice. Actually, this one was really hard to do. This is the first time I paint a cityscape by the way. I can't remember from where I found the picture I used as reference, but I think it is Budapest. I know there are several perspective errors but after 10h of work I was about to get crazy with this painting, so I decided to let it go. Anyway, I hope you like it!
You did a fantastic job on the values and colors (you had me fooled, at first glance i thought it was a photo) so it's a damn shame that you let the perspective go like that. Next time use perspective guides like lines or rulers or whatever, because it's too bad to waste good work on a painting gone bad because of lack of good fundamentals.
I'm only telling you this because I'm pissed off at myself for being a lazy fucker and not paying respect to the basic stuff, so there you go.
Thanks dude! I'm happy because lots of people told me that it looks like a photo when they see the small image.
Although I do agree with everything you said about the rest. I suck on drawing any kind of landscape and perspective issues. But I won't waste more effort working on pieces that are not well established.
